Alex Wood Strikes Out Four In Loss
5 years agoCincinnati Reds left-hander Alex Wood pitched well in a 3-1 loss to the Washington Nationals on Tuesday. Wood gave up three runs over five innings while striking out four and walking none. The start lowered Wood's ERA to 5.59 with 15 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings of work. Wood made just his fourth start of the season after spending most of the year on the injured list with a back issue. Based on his past performance, Wood is worth an add in deeper leagues if you need pitching help. He is slated to take on the St. Louis Cardinals in his next start, which comes on Sunday.
