Nomar Mazara Has Three-Hit Night
5 years agoTexas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI in a loss to the Twins on Friday. Mazara got off to a rocky start but has picked it up since the All-Star break. He's batting .306 with a .576 slugging percentage in the second half, with five of his 17 homers coming since the break thanks to a major spike in fly-ball percentage. Mazara was hitting only fly balls at a 29.6 percent rate earlier in the season but has upped that to 43.1 percent in the second half, a promising sign given his homer-friendly home ballpark. He'll look to stay hot Saturday in a difficult matchup against Jose Berrios and the Twins.
