5 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (shoulder) is set to play three to five innings in the field for Triple-A Omaha on Wednesday. Mondesi went 0-for-4 as the designated hitter Tuesday night as he rehabs from a shoulder injury that has had him on the injured list since July 16. The plan is to play Mondesi three to five innings again Thursday before evaluating how he feels on Friday. Mondesi was batting .266 with seven home runs when he went on the IL, and his 31 stolen bases led the league at the time. Assuming he doesn't suffer a setback, he should be back with the Royals sometime next week.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
