Byron Marshall Has Best Preseason Game
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Byron Marshall carried the ball eight times for 45 yards on Thursday night against the Ravens. He averaged 5.6 yards per carry with a long rush of 16 yards. It was by far his best performance of the preseason, and undeniably more encouraging than Samaje Perine's five-carry, 13-yard outing. The battle between Marshall and Perine throughout the Redskins' four exhibitions looked like one nobody wanted to win until Thursday. At the same time, this competition has been for a depth role on Washington's roster. Regardless of who wins it, he will not offer any near-term fantasy value as the team's fourth running back.
