5 years agoBoston Red Sox reliever Brandon Workman struck out one and didn't allow a base runner en route to his 10th save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Angels. 2019 has been a busy one for the 31-year-old as he's pitched in 62 games so far, 19 more than in the 2018 season. However, his new role as the Red Sox closer has been his most fruitful. On the year, he's 9-1 with a 2.20 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 87 strikeouts in 61 1/3 innings. Arguably the most impressive stat is that he's only allowed one home run all season. With how solid Workman has been, he'll continue to be locked into the ninth-inning role.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
