5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins went 2-for-4 with two homers Monday against the Reds. Hoskins took starter Anthony DeSclafani deep with a man on in the third inning before adding to his day with a solo shot in the eighth. Hoskins struggled mightily in August with just a .161 batting average but was victimized by a .197 BABIP despite sporting a 41.2 percent hard-hit rate. Throughout the struggles, Hoskins never lost his keen eye as he still put up an elite 19.8 percent walk rate which helped keep his on-base percentage up even though the hits weren't falling. Hoskins seems to be coming around now as he has nine hits in his past six games and should be confidently re-inserted into fantasy lineups if he was benched during his extended slump.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
