5 years agoChicago Bears kicker Eddy Pineiro connected on a 38-yard field goal in the Bears 10-3 loss to the Packers in Week 1. The "rookie" was thrust into the action in the first quarter, burying a midrange kick right down the middle for his first NFL field goal. The young kicker never saw another opportunity in the game, but Bears fans surely are breathing a sigh of relief for the moment. Much has been made of the team's kicking situation over the offseason, and Pineiro executing his first attempt will help silence the doubters for now.
