Ryan Switzer Draws Praise From Ben Roethlisberger
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Ryan Switzer will begin his second season with the team on Sunday night when they take on the New England Patriots. Switzer didn't receive much work with the offense in the preseason, but he did get his reps in on special teams. However, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had some high praise for the third-year slot receiver. "He's strong, he's not shy, and he plays big," said the veteran signal caller. Then offensive coordinator Randy Fichtner swooped in and said Switzer has a defined role on the team, but it's mainly special teams. The UNC product will certainly see his time with the offense, but it's hard to ever picture a time when the 26-year-old is fantasy relevant, even in full-point PPR formats.
