5 years agoChicago Cubs shortstop Javier Baez (thumb) will undergo an MRI on his thumb. Baez has been absent since Sunday and was scratched from Thursday’s lineup. Manager Joe Maddon said they hope to see what ailment they are dealing with after the results of the MRI. The loss of Baez has hurt both the Cubs and fantasy owners. More should be known about his return date after the MRI, and Addison Russell will continue to see the bulk of starts at shortstop.
