BALLER MOVE: Add in 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 8% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Do you know the first time Frank Gore ran for a touchdown in the NFL? Back in 2005. You do know the last time he did so? Just this weekend against the Giants. New Yorkers would be happier if that was all Gore had to show come Sunday. Believe it or not, 36-year-old Frank Gore is the leading back of a Bills team that is now 2-0 and ramping up. He's the oldest of RB1 in the league this season (by far if Adrian Peterson had not been put in that role following Derrius Guice's injury), but doesn't look like it at all.
It makes sense to find Gore in the waiver wire in some many leagues. After a Week 1 middling performance against a Jets Defense that looked like a good matchup, people just released him to go find other sexier options. He saw 19 snaps but could only get to 20 yards on 11 carries. He was clearly outperformed by Devin Singletary, who was much more efficient. Things changed in Week 2, though.
Gore racked up 16.3 PPR points this past weekend. He did so on 19 rush attempts, gathering 68 yards and two touchdowns. Gore was also able to add 15 receiving yards on two catches. For the second consecutive week, Gore led the Bills backfield but he hadn't had to worry much about his role in the game against the Giants when Singletary suffered a hamstring injury. The rookie, again, was putting on quite a nice game (six carries for 57 yards and a score; 11.7 PPR), but won't be a threat for Gore's touches for the time being.
If Gore was already the RB1 of the Bills offense, you can lock him in as a starter and a bell cow with Singletary injury. Even if the backup tailback gets healthy in no time, it looks like Buffalo will still keep easing him into the league, so Gore is definitely someone to pick up in any standard-size league for the immediate future.
