5 years agoChicago Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish was masterful in his last time out, striking out 14 Padres over six scoreless innings in a win at San Diego. The right-hander nearly matched that strikeout total on Tuesday night striking out 13 Reds over seven innings and allowing four earned runs in a losing effort. At one point, the 33-year-old struck out eight batters in a row, setting a Cubs franchise record. Even with the loss, Darvish has still been a much better pitcher of late and has a 13.9 K/9 since the start of August.
