Adrian Peterson A Risky Play Against Giants
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson has not gotten off the launchpad in 2019, averaging just 2.8 yards per carry on 22 attempts since taking over for the injured Derrius Guice. The Redskins have had a decent amount of success through the air, and now they're about to face one of the worst pass defenses in football. It's worth noting that the Giants have given up the fifth-highest rushing total to opposing backs (331 yards), but that number is less a reflection of their efficiency against the run (4.1 yards per carry against) and more a result of the fact that they're tied for the third-most rushing attempts against (79) in the league. Peterson has been anything but efficient, and he's only averaging 11 carries per game. Avoid him if you can help it, though injuries and bye weeks may force your hand.
