Welcome back, RotoBallers! Below you will find my Week Four fantasy football lineup rankings. The ranks are available in PPR, Half PPR and Standard formats. They will be updated as needed, so make sure to check back for the latest versions, especially on the weekends. Skill Position analysis versus the FantasyPros industry Expert Consensus Rankings (ECR) is primarily based on the PPR ranks.
This was not a highly aggressive week on the waiver wire, as only one team of note is on a bye. For any injury replacements, owners are able to turn to their reserve spots in many cases. The Lions will be off, and the only players of significant note who require fill-ins are Kerryon Johnson and Kenny Golladay. Miami is also not playing this week, but no respectable Fantasy owner is using any Dolphins in their starting lineups. We also recommend you don’t simply ignore kicker trends, as that position can save or boost your outlooks when other players do not perform up to expectations. We have carefully worked out our kicker rankings for your benefit.
If you are making a close decision between two similarly ranked players, you can use a matchup to break the tie. But matchups should not be used purely to consider starting one guy over the other. Also, when making decisions between an injured player and someone else. if they are ranked closely lean towards the healthy guy.

Week 5 Quarterbacks - Rankings Analysis
I am a little bit lower on Russell Wilson than the ECR, but he is still a very good starter. If the Seahawks are able to execute the ideal game plan, he may throw less passes. But Seattle often plays close games, so he often has a solid floor. … I am big on Jacoby Brissett this week. He is underrated and has thrown eight TD passes in his past three games, with 575 passing yards in his last two, and you have to love the Chiefs matchup. … Jared Goff has the weaponry to exploit the Seattle secondary. … I am not seeing too much upside in Aaron Rodgers without Adams vs. Dallas.
Jimmy Garoppolo should deliver a quality performance on Monday Night Football. … I am considerably lower on Kyler Murray than the ECR. He will be without Christian Kirk and the rushing yardage has not been there. … I am avoiding using Baker Mayfield until further notice. He does not have more than one TD pass and it may be a tough environment on Monday night against a revived 49ers squad on the road.
Week 5 Running Backs - Rankings Analysis
Mark Ingram is simply underrated. He is the sixth-highest scoring RB in Fantasy Football and the Pittsburgh defense is no longer difficult to run against. … You can pretty much lock in Derrick Henry as a RB1 against any opponent now. The Buffalo defense may spend a lot of time on the field this week as the Titans tie their offense to Henry and control game flow. … Todd Gurley may score more than once at Seattle. … Wayne Gallman will get a lot of volume even though the matchup seems daunting. … Joe Mixon has a fine matchup, but he is no lock to deliver better than adequate production. … Jordan Howard is running hard and with a lot of authority, so start him this week.
You cannot be confident in what type of workload Melvin Gordon may be in for this week. … Devonta Freeman is no longer a RB2. … Miles Sanders has real pretty cutback moves, but he should learn from Howard how to run decisively. … The Patriots will always take away the opposition’s best player, and in Washington’s case, that may be Chris Thompson this week. … Malcolm Brown could get some goal line chances and Rashaad Penny is back from a hamstring issue and could rip off a sizable run or two.
Week 5 Wide Receivers - Rankings Analysis
This should be a big rebound week for Julian Edelman against Washington. … Brandin Cooks can really burn the Seahawks Defense as they refuse to adjust out of three-linebacker sets on passing downs. … Emmanuel Sanders is a locked-in WR2 now. … Sterling Shepard is a must-start WR2, regardless of matchup, and even with Golden Tate returning. … We’ve gotten to the point where you simply have to start D.J. Chark every week. … Courtland Sutton has earned a regular starting spot in most lineups, too.
Even in a good matchup vs. Oakland, Allen Robinson is not quite a WR2 this week. Chase Daniel is no mad gunner. … With Adams out, Geronimo Allison gets a boost. He has scored in two of his past three games. … Calvin Ridley has a friendly matchup vs. Houston, but right now he can’t quite be trusted no matter who he faces. Matt Ryan is throwing for 300 yards every week and Ridley remains quiet. … Phillip Dorsett is on again, off again, but this is a ‘on” week vs. Washington. … Diontae Johnson is earning WR3 consideration. … Everyone is looking for the big Will Fuller week, but don’t count on it.
Week 5 Tight Ends - Rankings Analysis
Will Dissly has four TD catches in his past three games and should find the end zone again vs. the Rams. … WR injuries will force the Indianapolis TEs to play expanded roles against the Chiefs, with Eric Ebron being the biggest Fantasy beneficiary. … Darren Waller will be in Chicago’s defensive crosshairs, but you still have to start him. … It’s so popular to start TEs against Arizona nowadays, but it’s not easy to decide which Cincinnati TE to use. Tyler Eifert has three catches in his last two games and one TD reception this season. You might consider starting Eifert and then see C.J. Uzomah out-produce him.
