5 years agoHouston Astros starter Justin Verlander will take the mound in Game 5 of the ALCS with the intention of sending the Astros to the World Series. This will be the fourth time Verlander has faced the Yankees in the playoffs and the veteran has a 1.19 ERA against them with 28 strikeouts. Verlander pitched 6 2/3 innings on October 13, allowing two runs while striking out seven. The right-hander has been fantastic pitching on the road in the regular season as well, posting a 2.82 ERA, a 0.76 WHIP and holding home opponents to a measly .164 batting average in 17 road starts.--Joey C - RotoBaller
