Sam Darnold (QB, NYJ) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 2QB Leagues

OWNED IN: 23% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: After a rough start to the 2019 NFL Season, Sam Darnold has been a bit disappointing for fantasy owners. There’s a good chance that he’s a waiver wire option, even in Superflex and 2QB leagues. He’s missed three games this season, played in three games, and the Jets have already had their bye week. This week, the Jets are in Miami, giving Darnold a great opportunity to break out and make a name for himself.

The Jets should have Chris Herndon back this week after serving a suspension and missing three games with a hamstring injury. Herndon has a chance to make his debut this week, giving Darnold another weapon, one who he had a great relationship with last year. The Jets need to get LeVeon Bell going, and part of that means they need to throw him the ball out of the backfield. Robby Anderson is healthy and this weekend is shaping up to be one that Darnold has everything set up in his favor. It would be surprising if he doesn’t have a big week this week, and if he fails to do so, it may be time to give up on Darnold from a fantasy perspective.
