BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 20% of leagues
ANALYSIS: With athleticism and a smooth lefty stroke, Rodney Hood has always been a tantalizing option for fantasy owners. Now fully ingratiated into the Portland Trail Blazers organization, the five-year veteran has gotten off to an impressive start.
His 12.2 points per game are nothing to rave about and won't likely increase alongside Portland's star backcourt duo. Where Hood is compensating, however, is everywhere else. His 4.2 rebounds and 46.8 field goal percentage are career-high marks.
Always a streaky shooter, Hood is taking advantage of the looks created by both Lillard and McCollum, drilling his 4.2 3-point attempts per game at a blistering hot 47.6 percent clip.
That figure is likely to come down as is the case with almost any outlier stat to start the season. The starter's minutes, however, will still be there for Hood and a breakout game is always a possibility, like the 20 points he put up against Dallas.
Hood isn't going to contribute much across the board, but for those in need of some help in the scoring columns, he'll be in a better position than most to provide a solid helping of buckets and 3-pointers.
