Kalen Ballage Plods Through Another Loss
5 years agoLooking back, it's hard to believe that Miami Dolphins running back Kalen Ballage was being drafted ahead of former Dolphin starter Kenyan Drake coming into this season. Completely ineffective all year, things haven't improved since getting the backfield all to himself following the trade of Drake and the suspension of Mark Walton, who had supplanted Ballage on the depth chart prior to Drake being moved. After rushing for nine yards on nine carries in Week 11, Ballage rushed for 13 yards on seven carries in Miami's 41-24 loss to Cleveland on Sunday. While that line is technically better than the week before, that doesn't mean Ballage can be trusted going forward as even a dart-throw in your flex position. The Dolphins will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13 and Ballage may start to face competition for touches from Myles Gaskin and Patrick Laird, making it difficult to find a reason to start the former preseason sleeper in any format.
