Breshad Perriman (WR, TB) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 0% of Leagues

ANALYSISAs if we hadn’t had enough headaches with Tampa Bay’s offense and its multiple receiving options, Breshad Perriman went full-force in Week 13 and finished the day five receptions on six targets for 87 yards to help the Bucs win their game against the Jaguars this past Sunday. While this probably doesn’t mean much going forward in terms of who is going to lead the team (Mike Evans and Chris Godwin are still there and healthy), it might mean a no. 3 role is coming Perriman’s way.

This is Perriman’s four year in the league and he has had a couple of seasons in which he has averaged a little more than six fantasy points per game. He’s at 4.6 this year in 10 games, mostly due to low usage rather than bad performances. In fact, the two times Perriman has been targeted six or more times this season (weeks 9 and 13) he surpassed the 40-yard mark receiving and caught four and five passes respectively. In his last game this past Sunday he had a season-high in yardage with 87 on the day, hauling in five of six passes.

Tampa faces Indianapolis (18th against opposing WRs this season), Detroit (26th), and Houston (21st) next. All of them have below-average defenses against receivers, so that can only help Perriman reach good numbers if he holds onto the no. 3 receiver role and keeps up the usage while defenses key on Evans and Godwin. While Perriman is certainly not going to win you the league he could be a potential useful play at your flex spot if you play in a way deep league. If you don’t want to risk it with him you probably can week another week to see how his usage is handled in Week 14 and then make a move to add him if you remain alive in the playoffs in time for Week 15.
