Adrian Peterson Facing Uphill Battle Against Philly
5 years agoWashington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson is once again in the driver's seat for his team's rushing workload. He performed admirably on increased touches last week when Derrius Guice went down with injury, and produced a quality fantasy line two weeks ago when the two RBs were splitting the work evenly. Those outings came against two of the most optimal running back matchups in the league, the Panthers and Packers. His Week 15 opponent is an Eagles Defense that figures to offer significantly more resistance, as they're holding opposing backs well under four yards per carry. Peterson has no one to contend with for rushing volume, but Chris Thompson could be utilized frequently as a pass-catching back in this matchup if Philly is once again up to the task of shutting down the ground game. Peterson comes in as heavily dependent on volume for fantasy purposes this week, and he may need a touchdown to be worth a spot in starting lineups.
