ANALYSIS: With the return of Will Fuller V, Kenny Stills served as Houston's No.3 receiver on Sunday. How'd he do? Far from bad, as he had his best game of the year by far. Stills did it all and finished the game against Tennessee with a hyper-efficient 35 yards on three catches (three targets) and two touchdowns. It was the first multi-score game of the season for Stills. His role will probably be the same going forward, although this incredible outcome might make Houston rely a little bit more on Stills come next weekend.
Stills has been a low-usage player all year long. He’s seen more than four targets in just four of the 12 games he’s played in 2019, but most of his better outings came during the first four weeks of the season. He had a touchdown in Week 1 and an 89-yard performance in Week 3, getting to 12 FP in both games. Other than that, his best games in terms of the yardage gained came in Week 7 (105) and Week 13 (61), as Stills has a low-yardage profile and doesn’t finish games with high marks on average.
While Stills has been touchdown-dependent to broke the 15-FP barrier this year and his floor is as low as two or three points, his average should be considered closer to the 10 fantasy points on average, though with little upside to getting many more than those.
With the Texans needing a win to get into the NFL playoffs, they will probably try and seal it this weekend against the worst defense against WRs in Tampa Bay’s. If you play in a deep league and have yet to fill the flex spot (or more reasonably a second-flex position), then you might want to consider Stills. Houston is full of boom/bust players and who knows who will make the flashy play. Pick up and play Stills if you think you’ll need an unexpected amount of points to win the championship over your rival. Stills (and the Texans) definitely has it in it to explode any week without prior notice.
