Case Keenum Plays Well In Relief Effort
5 years agoWashington Redskins quarterback Case Keenum was called on to fill in for the injured Dwayne Haskins in Sunday's overtime shootout against the Giants. The veteran completed 16 of 22 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown, adding a game-tying rushing touchdown in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter for good measure. Keenum's status as the QB for Week 17 will hinge on the severity of Haskins' ankle injury, as well as whether the Redskins feel compelled to take any chances with the rookie's health in a meaningless season finale. If Keenum holds onto the starting job to close out the year, it won't significantly alter the outlook for Redskins' pass-catchers.
