5 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees completed 19 of 30 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns in a 42-10 blowout of the Carolina Panthers. Brees only threw 30 passes- thanks to a 35-0 halftime lead- but stayed hot, as it's his fourth game in a row with at least three scores and 250 yards. The throw of the day was a beautiful, 21-yard back-shoulder lob to Jared Cook, who snagged it with one hand for a touchdown. The veteran signal-caller just missed breaking his record for single-season completion percentage that he set last year. Plus, Brees helped put the Saints in position for a first-round bye, though they'll need a Seahawks win over the 49ers later to earn it.--Tim Capurso
