Michael Thomas Catches Only Four Of Nine Targets
5 years agoNew Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas caught four of nine targets for 37 yards in a 42-10 blowout victory over the Carolina Panthers. Thomas had his worst outing of the year, though it didn't help that the Saints were up 35-0 at the half, eliminating the need to throw- or better yet, even play their starters. These types of games will be few-and-far-between for the 26-year-old, who had one of the greatest seasons ever for a wideout. His 149 catches are the most in a single season in NFL history while his 1725 receiving yards led the league and are the seventh-most in a single season in NFL history, along with nine touchdowns. Thomas and the Saints will await the winner of tonight's Seahawks-49ers game to see if they secure a first-round bye or not.
