BALLER MOVE: Add In 14-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 26% of leagues
ANALYSIS: When it comes to recently traded players it's always hard to assess the value they will have in their new surroundings. Enter Glenn Robinson III, who is moving from a 31+ minutes starting role to a championship contender in which he will ride the pine and see his minutes cut way shorter. No matter what, I still see Robinson as a more than valuable player to get in your team, only knowing his upside won't be as high as it's been to this point.
In his 48 games for the Warriors this season Robinson has averaged 12.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 1.2 stocks. Those are definitely good numbers. Only 62 players in the NBA are averaging them, which might seem a big number but is not that high considering each team puts five starters on the court and there are 30 teams in the league, so only 40% of the starters are getting there, let alone rotation players, etc. The problem for Robinson will be keeping up that line while playing on a lesser role and fewer minutes, as he's averaging that line on 31.6 mpg.
The move to Philadelphia will turn Robinso into a specialist with most of his fantasy value coming from his three-point scoring prowess (1.4 per game on a 40 percent shooting beyond the arc). That is what made me change him from a 12-team league target to a 14-team or deeper one. If you happen to be part of one of those deeper leagues go for him. If not, you might want to pass as he won't be a heavy-minutes guy anymore.
