BALLER MOVE: Add In 12-Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 39% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Though undersized for the center position, Daniel Theis has been consistent and a chief rotation player for the Boston Celtics this season. The Germany native has started in 47 of 54 games this season, and has been averaging 8.3 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The third-year player is also shooting 54.7 percent from the field and leads the team in blocks at 1.4 per game.
As a matter of fact, Daniel Theis and Enes Kanter are the top two centers on this team, but Theis has the minutes edge at 22.9 per game (his career-high) while Kanter has 18.6. One encouraging sign is that the 27-year-old’s production is picking up, as he has scored in double digits in seven of the last 10 games. Though you may not expect high scoring games from the center, you can expect versatility in his stats, thus making him a reliable fantasy play. His latest double-double came on Feb. 9 against the Thunder.
Though there is always the chance fellow center Enes Kanter could be a factor to affect fantasy value, Theis’ clear share of playing time and consistent stats warrant him a worthy fantasy pickup in large leagues.
