Robinson Chirinos To Miss A Week Of Spring Training Games
5 years agoTexas Rangers catcher Robinson Chirinos (hamstring) will not be behind the plate when the team takes the field for their first spring training game on Friday against the Kansas City Royals. The offseason acquisition is still nursing a hamstring strain that he suffered in January and will be limited to bullpen work for the next week. It should not affect his status for Opening Day. Chirinos is an option in two-catcher or AL-only leagues and is currently the 22nd catcher going off the board in NFBC leagues with an ADP of 296. In the meantime, expect Jeff Mathis and Jose Trevino to pick up most of the opportunities while Chirinos continues to protect his hamstring.
