5 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (knee) will not make his scheduled Spring Training start against the Orioles on Sunday due to left knee soreness. Rodriguez slipped and fell after his spikes got caught in the mound on Wednesday, causing the injury that is not expected to be a serious concern according to Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke. The 26-year-old will throw on a back field on Monday as a result of his start being pushed back. Rodriguez is coming off of a career-best year in 2019, where the left-hander posted 19 wins — along with a 3.81 ERA and 213 strikeouts through 203 1/3 innings on the season. Rodriguez will look to take another step forward in 2020, with an expectation that he will begin the season as the SP2 for the Red Sox.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
