Niko Goodrum Held Out As Precaution
5 years agoDetroit Tigers infielder Niko Goodrum has been out all week with a groin injury. According to reports, this is simply due to the Tigers being extra cautious, and he would in fact be playing if it was the regular season. Goodrum originally injured his groin in late August and he missed the final month of the regular season as a result. We would not factor the injury into Goodrum's draft stock, as the team is just being cautious. Goodrum is a strong bench player to roster due to his positional versatility. He is eligible at second base, shortstop and left field. He is a solid source of home runs and stolen bases for a middle infielder as well. However, his career batting average of .243 does limit his upside. Target Goodrum as middle infield depth in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
