Mike Clevinger Nearing Throwing Program
5 years agoCleveland Indians starting pitcher Mike Clevinger (knee) could being a throwing program as early as Friday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports. Clevinger underwent surgery exactly two weeks ago to take care of a partial tear of his left meniscus, and a throwing program is the first step toward his impending return. His injury and recovery are expected to hold him out for about six to eight weeks. Clevinger has all the makings of a fantasy ace when healthy. He offers three plus pitches, led by a 96 mph fastball. He should only miss a handful of starts to begin the year, and if he slides in drafts, he's certainly capable of ace potential but comes with some injury risk. His current ADP sits at 26.
