5 years agoCincinnati Reds third baseman Eugenio Suarez (shoulder) took some swings in the batting cage on Friday. The Reds have not yet set a date for when he will be available to play in Cactus League games but they are still hopeful that the star third baseman will be ready for Opening Day. Suarez had offseason shoulder surgery after a swimming pool accident at his residence. The accident has set him back this spring. Even if Suarez is not ready for Opening Day, it appears unlikely that he will be out an extended time in the regular season. That being said, fantasy owners who draft Suarez will want to have a backup plan in place at third base.--Matt T - RotoBaller
