BALLER MOVE: Add In 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 39% of leagues
ANALYSIS: I'm writing this just a few hours after watching Seth Curry went down injured in Dallas' last game on Mar. 6 against Memphis. In a match in which the Mavs also missed Tim Hardaway Jr., it felt like a red-carpet ceremony for Delon Wright to have a monster day... and he didn't disappoint. Wright played 29 minutes and although the numbers weren't gaudy he put up an all-around contribution finishing with a stuffed 11-8-5-3 line shooting 66.7% from the floor, hitting his two free-throw attempts, and scoring a three-pointer, all on a rather low 11.4% usage rate.
Although it looks like Seth Curry won't miss a lot of time, Wright had already been playing extended minutes lately. Since the AS break, Wright has played nine games averaging 25 minutes per night. In that span, he's keeping up a 7-4-4-1 line with, again, a ridiculously low 12.2% usage on offense that almost leaves him no chances to rack up fantasy points. No problem, though, as he's doing enough to still be a valuable play.
Had Curry gotten injured for long (it can still be the case, keep an eye on our player news just in case), Wright's value would be much higher and I'd consider a potential addition in standard leagues. If that doesn't happen he's still a good one for deeper-league owners. Wright might not put up monster numbers in any category but he always provides contributions all across the board and it's been two months already in which he's playing more than 24 minutes per game on a nightly basis, with 17 of his last 21 games logging 20+ rounds of the clock.
