5 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf) has started running on a treadmill for the first time since straining his calf earlier this spring. Stanton is still on track to miss Opening Day, but the Yankees are encouraged by his progress so far and hope for the outfielder to be back in the lineup in April. Players missed a median of 22 games with a calf strain last season, and Stanton appears to be on pace for a similar timeline. Fantasy owners should take the April target with a grain of salt, but Stanton’s progress is encouraging and should have fantasy owners expecting a mid-May return at worst.--Sam Chinitz
