J.D. Davis Hits First Spring Homer
5 years agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder J.D. Davis hit his first home run of the spring on Wednesday in Grapefruit League action against the Cardinals. This past Sunday, Davis finally returned to the lineup from a jammed left shoulder suffered earlier in spring training. All signs now point to Davis being ready to go by Opening Day. The Mets appear intent on getting Davis into the lineup as much as possible in 2020, by playing him in the outfield and at third base. This fact, together with the recent oblique injury suffered by Michael Conforto which should keep him sidelined to begin the season, point toward more playing time for Davis. At his current ADP of 173, Davis is a prime breakout candidate who can potentially return tremendous value to owners relative to where he is being drafted.
