DeAndre Hopkins Traded to Cardinals
5 years agoIn a blockbuster deal, the Arizona Cardinals acquired wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and a fourth-round pick from the Houston Texans in a Monday afternoon trade. The Cardinals will send running back David Johnson, a second-round pick in 2020, and a fourth-rounder in 2021 to Houston in exchange. According to reports, the Texans did not want to redo Hopkins' contract, which still has three years remaining. The landing spot for Hopkins in Arizona is enticing as he will immediately become the WR1 on an extremely pass-heavy offense led by head coach Kliff Kingsbury and quarterback Kyler Murray. The only concern here is that Hopkins joins a crowded receiving corps that includes veteran Larry Fitzgerald and up-and-coming receiver Christian Kirk, who is entering his third year. Regardless of the team change, fantasy gamers can continue to treat Hopkins as a top-12 asset in dynasty leagues and a No. 1 receiver in all fantasy formats going forward.
