5 years agoDespite having undergone precautionary cardio screening tests early in spring training, New York Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo won't be held back by the Mets when the season eventually begins. The issue that caused Nimmo to miss time in spring training is nothing new and is something that he has been dealing with for years. Before MLB spring training was suspended, Nimmo had reportedly been turning scouts' heads based on his performance. Over 11 Grapefruit League games, Nimmo put up an impressive slash line of .379/.455/.552 in 29 at-bats. Heading into 2020, Nimmo is part of a crowded Mets outfield. This may result in a platoon role for him, especially if Yoenis Cespedes (ankle, heels) is fully healthy. That said, an impressive start to the season that builds off of his spring success, combined with Michael Conforto's oblique injury, if Conforto remains sidelined, could mean regular playing time for Nimmo in the early part of 2020. As a result, Nimmo, who appears to be over last season's neck injury, remains worth a draft selection in deep mixed leagues and NL-only formats at his current ADP of 365. Nimmo could return tremendous value if he gets regular playing time batting at the top of the Mets' potent lineup.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
