5 years agoAlabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (hip) has been favored to be going to the Miami Dolphins with the No. 5 selection during the upcoming NFL Draft. Tagovailoa underwent hip surgery that derailed his final season at Alabama. However, it appears he's making great progress and the hip issue shouldn't hold him back. The Dolphins gave Tagovailoa a passing grade on his physical, according to Armando Salguero. It sounds like the Dolphins are confident that Tagovailoa is ready to play, but we'll see what they decide to do on draft day.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed 23 of 33 passes for 270 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during a Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots. He didn't have a great fantasy performance, but he did his job by limiting turnovers and leading Miami to a 1-0 record. Most importantly, we now have insight into what Tagovailoa's fantasy value could look like with both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle at his disposal. He has the weapons needed to choreograph a good football game, but for fantasy purposes, he falls into the mid-range QB2 tier.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

3 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to have both Jaylen Waddle (quad) and Tyreek Hill at his disposal against the New England Patriots in Week 1, marking the first time he has played with the duo during a regular season game. Not only is Tagovailoa surrounded by playmakers, but he'll be playing against a Patriots secondary that is weak at the cornerback position. As long as Miami's strengthened offensive line can fend off pressure from the Patriots' defensive front, Tagovailoa could succeed using his impressive arm strength and ball placement. He'll certainly be tested in Week 1, but he has an opportunity to finish in the high-end QB2 tier.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

3 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed six of seven passes for 121 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions during Saturday's preseason finale against the Philadelphia Eagles. He led three scoring drives, two of which ended in a touchdown and one that concluded with a field goal. Tagovailoa enters a pivotal third season in Miami with a strong group of weapons and legitimate playoff aspirations. From a fantasy football perspective, managers should view him as a mid-range QB2 in upcoming drafts.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

3 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa completed six of eight passes for 58 yards during Saturday's preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The former first-round pick played two drives in his first appearance of the preseason before handing the offense over to Teddy Bridgewater. Armed with a new weapon in Tyreek Hill, a flashy youngster in Jaylen Waddle, a replenished offensive line, and much more, Tagovailoa seems to be entering a pivotal season. Given his upside, he is currently being drafted and viewed as a mid-range QB2.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
