Denzel Mims Heads To Jets With Pick No. 59
5 years agoThe New York Jets used the No. 59 pick to select Baylor wide receiver Denzel Mims in the 2020 NFL draft. After posting a senior season where he caught 66 passes for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns, Mims impressed at the NFL Combine, running a 4.38 40-yard dash. At 6'3", Mims has above-average size and speed while also boasting a fantastic catch radius, although he struggled with drops and in contested-catch situations at Baylor. The Jets came into the draft in need of a wide receiver and can plug Mims in as their WR2 right away. If he reaches his potential, Mims could eventually develop into a quality WR1 and a true vertical threat as a "Z" receiver.
