James Conner Addresses Situation With Team
5 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner seemingly acknowledged the rumblings concerning his standing with the franchise by posting a photo of himself on Instagram with a caption reading: "they talkin like it's my last dance." Speculation concerning Conner's future with the organization came after the team selected Maryland running back Anthony McFarland Jr. in the fourth round of the NFL Draft. However, according to general manager Kevin Colbert and head coach Mike Tomlin, the move stemmed from a desire to improve the team's rushing attack this season by adding depth. The 24-year-old, who will be playing in the final season of his rookie deal, appeared in just 10 games in 2019 after battling a shoulder injury. With only four touchdowns last season, an eight-score reduction from the year prior, Conner will have extra incentive to produce and stay healthy if he is looking to earn big money moving ahead.
