A.J. Green Extension Even More Possible
5 years agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green and the team could be closer to a long-term deal after the release of veteran quarterback Andy Dalton. Dalton was slated to make $17.7 million this season, and his departure will allow the club some flexibility in signing the star wideout to a deal that could keep him in Cincinnati for the foreseeable future. Green missed the entire 2019 season after injuring his foot during training camp. Despite this, the team opted to use the franchise tag on the 32-year-old, which will pay him around $18 million this upcoming season. Green's fantasy stock may take a slight hit without Dalton in the mix in addition to the plethora of options on the offensive side of the ball, which includes newly acquired Clemson receiver Tee Higgins, who was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
