James Conner Wants To Stay In Pittsburgh
4 years agoPittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner is set to become a free agent following the completion of the 2020 season. His future with the team beyond this year is murky at best, although that can't be blamed on Conner. When asked about his contract status, Conner stated, "It would be hard to (imagine playing anywhere but Pittsburgh)," and then went on to say, "It would be hard. I'm Pittsburgh through and through." Conner's production on the field has never been in question but he has struggled to stay healthy, having yet to turn in a full 16-game season in his three-year career. Conner is setting up as a nice value in fantasy drafts, although there is plenty of injury risk baked in for those fantasy drafters who choose to roster him. For what it's worth, head coach Mike Tomlin stated last week that he still views Conner as a "featured runner", meaning the Steelers could lean heavily on him as their workhorse back in 2020.
