Martin Truex Jr. Looks To Repeat At Martinsville
4 years agoThe last time a driver won back-to-back races at Martinsville Speedway was when Jimmie Johnson did so in 2012 and 2013, but Joe Gibbs Racing's Martin Truex Jr. is looking to break that streak on Wednesday night. The former Cup Series champion is starting fifth in the Blue Emu 500 and is still searching for his first win of 2020. In fact, despite sitting fifth in points, Truex has just one top five this season, a third-place finish Sunday at Atlanta. Truex has top fives in four of the past five Martinsville races and should be able to keep up his recent momentum under the lights on Wednesday. Pencil him in as one of the drivers with the best chance of winning the first-ever night race at this track.
