4 years agoDespite not being listed on the initial 47-player list invited to camp due to the framework of his contract, Boston Red Sox catcher Jonathan Lucroy is expected to be included in the pool of players invited to camp ahead of July 1, according to a source. The veteran will join five catchers who were on the Red Sox initial list released ahead of Sunday's deadline, including Jett Bandy, Juan Centeno, Kevin Plawecki, Christian Vazquez and Connor Wong. Lucroy was productive during the spring with six hits, three RBI, three runs scored, seven walks, a pair of doubles and an .881 OPS through 27 plate appearances. The 34-year-old will be competing for the backup catcher job but does not project to carry any significant fantasy value if he is to make the Opening Day Red Sox roster.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
