4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton (calf) is expected to be healthy enough to DH on Opening Day. Stanton suffered a calf strain early in spring training, and although fantasy owners should expect Stanton to be healthy enough to hit by Opening Day, his ability to take the field may take longer. If Stanton becomes the team’s primary DH, then Brett Gardner, Miguel Andujar and Mike Tauchman are likely to battle for time in left field. Stanton’s inability to field would also hurt first baseman Mike Ford, who figures to compete for playing time at first base and DH.--Sam Chinitz
