4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka is back in the United States after spending his break from baseball in Japan. That means that Tanaka will not be at risk for travel-related delays that could have impacted his readiness for the start of the season. Tanaka is looking to rebound from a relatively poor 2019 season that saw him post a 4.45 ERA, and the 31-year-old worked to develop his cutter this offseason to improve his overall performance. Tanaka enjoyed a hot spring training that saw him post a 2.08 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 8 2/3 innings, and he’ll look to carry that hot start into spring training 2.0 and the regular season.--Sam Chinitz
