Mitch Garver Wants To Start 40-45 Games At Catcher
4 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Mitch Garver said he would like to start 40-45 games behind the plate in the MLB's 60-game season. While Garver wants to contribute as much as he can for Minnesota at his natural position, his health needs to be a priority after missing time last season. The 29-year-old enjoyed a breakout year in 2019, leading all American League catchers with 31 home runs while posting a .995 OPS in just 93 games. Garver also registered career highs in fly-ball percentage and home-run-to-fly-ball ratio, suggesting that his power swing could be here to stay. Garver is a good pick at his ADP of 120, though fantasy owners should keep in mind both his injury risks and the possibility of less playing time in the shortened season.
