Eduardo Rodriguez Tests Positive For COVID-19
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez has tested positive for COVID-19, according to multiple sources. Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke said Rodriguez is “feeling a lot better but still not feeling 100%.” The 27-year-old will remain back home in Miami until he is ready to travel and rejoin the team. “(Rodriguez) wants to be ready for Opening Day but we’ll have to see how it goes,” Roenicke said on Tuesday. “The medical team will follow him, give him instructions basically on how to stay in shape. But it just depends on how long this thing goes, when we can get the negative test from him and when he can come up and join us.” Red Sox No. 3 prospect Bobby Dalbec tested positive for COVID-19 as well. With Rodriguez's status uncertain for Opening Day, Nathan Eovaldi likely will start on July 24 against the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park and should be owned across standard fantasy formats.
