Eric Lauer Confirms Placement On COVID Injured List
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Eric Lauer confirmed Sunday that he was placed on the COVID-19 injured list, though the left-hander said he is healthy and expects to be ready to go for the start of the 2020 season, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Lauer was part of the trade that sent Zach Davies and Trent Grisham to the Padres. The southpaw was 8-10 with a 4.45 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 138 strikeouts over 149 2/3 innings in 2019, and he's moving to a more hitter-friendly ballpark. If healthy, he projects to be a back-end starter for Milwaukee and is a low-ceiling arm in NL-only leagues. Away from Petco Park, Lauer has a 5.99 ERA and 1.49 WHIP.
