Eduardo Rodriguez Placed On 10-Day Injured List
4 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez (illness) has been placed on the 10-day injured list after testing positive for COVID-19, Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke announced after receiving permission from the players. Rodriguez was not the only player officially being placed on the list, as left-handed pitchers Josh Taylor and Darwinzon Hernandez joined the 27-year-old as members of the team who will not be able to participate in summer camp at the moment. Rodriguez carries the most fantasy value of the three pitchers on the staff, as the left-hander posted career-bests of 19 wins, 213 strikeouts and a 3.81 ERA through 34 starts and 203 1/3 innings pitched in 2019. With Rodriguez, Chris Sale (surgery) and David Price (now with Dodgers) out of the picture for the Red Sox, 30-year-old right-hander Nathan Eovaldi, who has been impressive over the course of spring training and summer camp, isexpected to start on Opening Day against the Orioles in a favorable matchup to begin the 2020 season.
