Jose Berrios Named Twins Opening Day Starter
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Jose Berrios will be the team's Opening Day starter against the Chicago White Sox. This will be his second career Opening Day start as the ace of Minnesota's staff after setting career-highs last season in ERA and innings pitched. Fantasy owners who selected Berrios are waiting on a breakout, and there's even more potential for elite numbers in a shortened season, especially considering his hot start to 2019. If he can continue to display good control of his pitches and reduce his hits and home runs per nine innings, he could make the leap. Chicago could be a tougher matchup moving forward, but those that own Berrios in season-long leagues shouldn't bench him in the opener.
