4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo will begin the season in the bullpen, according to manager Bob Melvin. Melvin said that once they get him to three innings out of the bullpen they can begin transitioning Luzardo back to the starting rotation. Luzardo was one of the biggest risers up fantasy draft boards with the season delayed, but that enthusiasm waned when the 21-year-old tested positive for COVID-19. Luzardo was back in camp Friday and said his arm feels as good as it did before he had to self-isolate for 14 days. Luzardo will still be usable in fantasy as a reliever and should put up elite ratios and good strikeout numbers in a temporary relief role.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
